Riddles

You open the door labeled Riddles and step inside. You find yourself in a room filled with desks. At each desk sits a vermin holding a quill pen and writing on a piece of parchment. A ferret walks up to you and says,"This is the Riddle Room! Here the warriors of the Castle test their thinking skills with a monthly riddle. The first member who solves the riddle will get 20 coins, the second gets 15, and all the rest get 10. Look on this scroll for this month's riddle!" Then the ferret hands you a scroll and a quill pen and walks away. You sit down at an empty desk and start to read....

Here is the riddle for September!

It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.

It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.

It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.
