I use Finale 2011 to write music from time to time, and some of the music is beyond my capabilities to play. Luckily, I can use Finale to turn my compositions into MP3 files—and that’s what these are.
This was basically the result of me goofing around with a chord progression. I think I came up with this around 2001 or 2002, when I was at Keyano College. I thought it sounded pretty cool.
Both of these tunes predate the current incarnation of The Puzzle Palace. However they fit the Puzzle Palace perfectly, so that’s what they were used for.
This tune was started as an attempt at a panpipes song, but I never got past the first part of the melody. I added the second portion, the guitar part, and harmonies when I decided to use it for the Puzzle Palace.
This was written as a trio for sopranino, soprano, and bass recorders way back in 2009. The tune was complete; the MIDI had been generated; I simply reüsed it for the dream.
This is a resequencing of the recorder trio that became Background Tune 2
for the Puzzle Palace. Many thanks to Rourkie for doing this!
