From The Darkest Depths of Hell, I call thee forth, Mephisto!
Gentleman
John Ungatt Verdauga Lynx was a manager in the PWA from 2013 until his departure on Fright Night, 2017.
Dressing as a dapper gentleman, but having a most ungentlemanly demeanor and a deep, creepy laugh, he managed the likes of Saxon Huxley, Owen Wall, and J. Farigno. John Lynx was best known for his run representing the mysterious and silent Mephisto, who was PWA champion from 2015 to 2016, and John would be a constant thorn in ring announcer What About Ivan’s side, refusing to let the announcer introduce Mephisto, and instead doing it himself and summoning the wrestler with his trademark line.
After Mephisto’s departure, John Lynx managed Sheik Ackbar Shabaz until Fright Night 2017, when Sheik’s adversary Gabriel Lestat threw John Lynx into a coffin, which was taken away by two mysterious figures.
John Lynx has not been seen in the PWA since.
As you can tell from the photograph, this is one of the characters mentioned on the Characters Main Page that I performed in person.
It was my friend Dusty Adonis—a former wrestler in the PWA—who named me John Lynx. Here’s the video in which I got my name.
As John Lynx, I’d go on to manage a number of wrestlers—mostly those from the Storm Wrestling Academy—but it wasn’t until Mephisto, who never spoke, needed a mouthpiece that I began my best run as a manager, where I would constantly swipe the microphone from the ring announcer and introduce Mephisto myself.
When Mephisto’s run with the Championship Belt ended, he left the PWA and I was without a wrestler to manage until Shiek Ackbar Shabaz took me in.
In 2017, however, I decided to depart the professional wrestling business altogether, and amicably split with the PWA.
Also, while the two middle names were never mentioned in the ring, they are shout-outs to the Redwall series of books: Verdauga was the father of Tsarmina from the novel Mossflower, while Ungatt Trunn was the main villain of Lord Brocktree.
