This page allows you to see the colours and contrasts of a webpage. A good rule of thumb is: If you have to highlight the text to read it, your contrast is no good.
Poor contrast can result in colours that are very similar or colours that jar with each other.
On the right side of this page are a set of colours that you may choose from; they are the named colours (with their Hexadecimal codes). If you click on them, you can choose to which part of the webpage the colour will be applied.
For other colours, the first two links above the colour table go to pages that let you experiment with colours and find ones you like; this page has been set up to accept Hexadecimal (including compact), Red-Green-Blue, and Hue-Saturation-Lightness codes.
However, the Hue-Saturation-Lightness page requires the browser to support XHTML+SVG and CSS 3. If you see a green checkmark beside the link, your browser will support the page.
